Coming off two incredible seasons and with multiple starters returning, the 2025 Heritage Hall Men’s Soccer Team is looking to three-peat.
Ever since Turner Lentz (‘24) put the nail in the coffin for the 2024 state championship game, the Chargers have been looking forward to another shot at the title. With multiple starting juniors, now seniors, returning, including top goalscorer Tucker Austin, skillful forward Caysen Argo, technical midfielders Will Porter and Alex Alspaugh, and no-nonsense defender Cal Welker, head coach Tommy Riley has the arsenal to win his third consecutive and sixth total title.
Despite the recent success of these Seniors, there is no lack of motivation, especially for Welker.
“I, along with the six other seniors, are ready to leave a legacy the school has never seen before along with leaving this program better than we found it by taking the three-peat.”
But it’s not just the returning seniors that spark anticipation for a successful season. Riley and his coaching staff will roster one of the largest Heritage Hall soccer teams in recent history, giving Chargers ample supply for different tactical matchups and fresh legs throughout games.
Unfortunately, preseason was not ideal for the Chargers as starting sophomore goalkeeper Logan Orcutt left one practice with a fractured wrist, leaving him out indefinitely. However, Logan’s position will be handed over to junior Henry Winland, who has proven himself able to hold down the posts for a championship winning team, as he was the starting goalkeeper for the 2023 Chargers that won state.
After preseason, the Chargers will start the season with away games at Mount Saint Mary and Lawton Macarthur before entering district play with a match at home against Woodward after Spring Break.
